For students planning a degree in economics, the visit of French (le français de la communication professionnelle) is recommended. For students, who are planning a legal education, the French course "le français du droit" is recommended.
General teaching guidelines
The course "La communication professionnelle en français» on Assessment Year level focuses on the specific use of the language in the corporate world. The emphasis is on the areas of marketing, product, distribution, company formation, family business, and organisation of a company (legal forms, finance, management, outsourcing, mergers), as well as labour (ressources, humaines, labour market and unemployment, compensation, trade unions). Furthermore, graphs and tables are analysed for students to learn to understand specific business writing, verbally express themselves adequately about economic issues, and to write a report ("compte rendu") and a simple letter or an e-mail.
Entry level
Matura oder Niveau B1/B2. On that level, students should be able to understand everyday conversation and develop answers to simple questions. They should also be proficient in grammar and syntax, so that relatively complex texts on legal subjects can be both understood and written by students themselves.
