There are two Spanish courses for the initial and intermediate level. A third course for Spanish is offered on a BA/MA level.
- Extended course Spanish CEFR B1 (for beginners and students with limited proficiency)
- Regular course Spanish CEFR B2
- Spanish CEFR C1 (only for BA und MA)
Entry level

Spanish B2
To register for this Spanish course, a pre-existing knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is required on a CEFR B1 level.
Students should:
- have knowledge of the Past Tense (perfecto, indefinido, imperfecto, pluscuamperfecto), of the Futuro and Condicional
- be familiar with an average vocabulary (e.g. the extent of the contents of a standard textbook such as Puente, Rápido or Paso a Paso)
- be able to participate in everyday conversation and to ask and answer simple questions
- be able to understand shorter texts on general, non-technical issues and answer questions (e.g. simple newspaper article)
For students with prior knowledge, the group allocation is based on an electronic placement test before the semester begins. This test should be done autonomously at home (Link).

Spanish B1 (extended course for students with little or no previous knowledge)
The course is aimed at beginners and students with limited proficiency.
Target level
By the end of the Assessment Year, a solid pragmatic speech competence will be obtained. Students will attain a good understanding of texts and have an adequate linguistic grounding for speaking and writing skills.
Workload
To achieve target level B1 or B2 in a year, a regular course attendance and a great degree of self-study is expected of the students, which is expected to extend through the semester break.
